Joseph W. Brickner, 87, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 7, 2013 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

On November 30, 1925 in Tiffin; he was born to Joseph L. and Rose A. (Scherger) Brickner. He married Joanne Mueller on June 21, 1958 in St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne; daughter, Kathryn (Chris) Baker of Newmarket, Ontario Canada; sons, Dr. Richard (Lee Ann) Brickner of Lake Forest, IL; Dr. Thomas E. (Beth) Brickner of Chapel Hill, NC; brothers, Albert (Deloris) Brickner of Tampa, FL; John (Louisa) Brickner of Tiffin, OH; sisters, Mary Hassenian of Laguna Niguel, CA; Sr. Mary Quintin, SND of Toledo, OH; Theresa (Paul) Streacker of Findlay, OH; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Louis, Mark, and Jerome Brickner and a sister, Catherine LaFontain.

Joe was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a 1944 graduate of Jackson Liberty High School. He farmed in the Bascom area at an early age, drove truck for Floom Fleck for 20 years, then retiring in 2005 from Tiffin Paper Co. where he drove truck for 35 years. Was a member of K of C and VFW Post 2858. Joe enjoyed playing cards especially euchre, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family from 6-9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 5:30 P.M.
