Joseph E. DeWeese, 83, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday evening, May 18, 2016 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

He was born on September 30, 1932, in Fostoria, Ohio, to Charles Foster and Aileen (Mankin) DeWeese. On December 15, 1982, he married Mary Lou Price.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou; two sons, Stephen E. (Ellie) DeWeese of Dayton and Timothy L. (Jennifer) DeWeese of Tallmadge; daughter, Jolene (Bobbie DeWeese) Brant of Tiffin; sister, Frances Kay Reed of The Plains, step-children, Tim (Jen) Galliher of Wichita, Kansas; Jeff (Sally) Galliher of Findlay, Ohio; Amy (Dave) Allen of Bloomville; 21 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Wanda Lee Shuman and Ruth A. Fry; an infant brother; and a great grandchild.

Joseph was a member of Grace Baptist Church and retired in 1990, after 30 years as a forklift operator, from American Standard. He served in the United States Air Force from January 11, 1952 to January 10, 1956. Joseph enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, camping, working on cars for himself and others, and he loved his dogs.

His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Stephanie Little officiating. Burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery, Bloomdale, Ohio with the Fostoria United Veterans Council officiating.

Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
