Obituary

Joseph E. Huss, 77, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday morning, April 17, 2011 at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.

On March 7, 1934 in Tiffin, he was born to Earl and Hilda (Serr) Huss. He married Sue Scheerer and she preceded him in death. He later married Christa Klein on February 10, 1968.

Survivors include his wife, Christa of 43 years, sons, Michael (Hester) Klein of Honolulu, HI; Christopher (Holly) Huss of Republic; daughter, Heidi (Christopher) Allen of Duncan, SC; brother, Tom (June) Huss of Tiffin; 2 grandchildren, Clay and Morgan Allen.

Joe was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a 1952 graduate of Calvert High School and joined the U.S. Army in 1956-1958. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 12 years and later for Kleppers as a salesman for over 25 years, retiring in 1996. Joe enjoyed working with stained glass, traveling, gardening, woodworking, music, being outdoors, and shell hunting. He was a member of VFW Post 2858, Eagles Aerie 402, and Moose Lodge 846. Joe enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and his Boxers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:30 am with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 4-8 pm at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Community Hospice Care.
