Joseph 'Joe' Murphy, 87, of Perrysburg, formerly of Bascom, died Monday afternoon, September 21, 2009, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.

He was born December 8, 1921, in Johnsonburg, NY, to Ernest and Mattie (Myers) Murphy. October 15, 1949, he married Mary Lucille 'Susie' Kelbley at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom.

Survivors include a daughter, Kristie (Mario) Procaccini of Perrysburg, 3 brothers; Charles (Marion) Murphy, Norman (Mary Ann) Murphy both of Varysburg, NY; Paul Murphy of Attica, NY; five sisters, Estella Petrie of Arcade, NY; Sr. Mary Patrick, Order of St. Joseph of Buffalo, NY; Genevieve Burlingame of Williamsville, NY; Rita Murphy of Batavia, NY; Doris DuPont of Jackson, NJ; many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death along with his parents and wife, Susie, in 1989, are three sisters, Teresa Murphy, Viola Murphy and Mary Frances Reynolds.

Joe was a graduate of Attica High School in Attica, New York, a former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a current member of St. Rose Church in Perrysburg. He delivered milk and ice cream for Hubach's, retiring after 34 years.

Joe will be remembered by family and friends for his wonderful outlook on life and his sense of humor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Friday, September 25, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, with Rev. Art Niewiadomski officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family 2-8 PM, Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424 . A Christian wake service will be 8:00 PM.
