Joseph Robert Stover, 74, of Findlay, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
He was born on September 23, 1947, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Robert and Grace (Weinberger) Stover and married Jane Kummerer on May 29, 1970 and later divorced.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather (Brett) Russell, Golden, CO; siblings, Karen (Don) Stein of Fremont; Rick (Dale) Stover of Pickerington; Chris (Steve) Burr of Tallmadge; Mark (Theresa) Stover of Tiffin; two grandchildren, Torrin Glick and Grace Gossard.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Joseph was a graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School. After graduating, he served in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in San Clemente, CA. Upon honorable discharge in 1970, he went on to become a tool and die journeyman until his retirement from Honeywell.
Joe was a craftsman at heart and made heirloom-quality furniture, clocks and keepsakes. He also fancied classic cars and took great pride in owning and driving Ford Mustangs over the years. His favorite movie was Tombstone and his greatest pleasure was having a hearty laugh with his friends and grandkids.
His funeral mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. A rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will be at a later date in Colorado with military honors.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-7:00 P.M. on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
