Joseph R. "Joe" Walland, 54, of Bettsville, passed away Saturday evening, July 19, 2014 at his home.

He was born on October 9, 1959, in Tiffin, Ohio, to William and Lois (Van Camp) Walland.

Survivors include his fiancAC., Lisa Boehler; son, Thane (Abby Aller) Boehler of Tiffin; daughter, Tyne (Eric Lopez) Brown of Tiffin; 2 brothers, William (Edwina) Walland and Charles (Lisa) Walland, both of Tiffin; 2 sisters, Rebecca Burkett of Tiffin and Catherine (Richard) Coleman of Ardmore, OK; 5 grandchildren, Keyera and Alex Hamm, Dominic Brown and Carson and Chloye Boehler; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Michael D. Walland.

Joe was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and worked at Green Bay Packaging in Fremont for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 733, Bettsville and a former member of the Fremont Moose Lodge 1555. He enjoyed swimming, riding the in the car and loved his cat, Jazzy.

His funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Rev. Kishore Kottana officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 1-3:00 P.M. and 6-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the funeral home.
