Joyce M. Florence, 81, of Tiffin, passed away Friday evening, January 29, 2010 at her daughter's home in Columbus.

On August 26, 1928, she was born in Bloomville, to Charles and Mary (Zahn) Altwies. On September 25, 1948, she married Roland Florence. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2007.

Survivors include four sons, John (Maxine) Florence of Tiffin, Bob 'Sonny' (Teresa) Florence of Republic, Mike 'Whitey' (Christy) Florence of Bloomville and Steve (Kathy) Florence of Cridersville, seven daughters, Diane (Michael) Gillig of Columbus, Peg (Jim) Greek of Dublin, Sue Allen of Plymouth, Paulette Tiell, Mary Ann (Gary) Gaietto, Joann Florence, all of Tiffin and Barb Florence of Middletown, 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Bob (Mercedes) Altwies of KY; and a sister, Rosie Clouse of FL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rollie of 59 years, two brothers, Jim and Chuck Altwies and 2 grandchildren, Rachel Tiell and Thomas Florence.

Joyce graduated from Calvert High School in 1946 and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and traveling with her husband.

A Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
