Obituary

Julie Ann Black, 56, of Tiffin, passed away Monday afternoon, January 31, 2022, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, after several year battle with dementia.

She was born on May 17, 1965, in Fostoria, Ohio, to Carl "Pete' and June M. (Piper) Painter.  On November 12, 1988, she married William M. "Bill" Black.

Survivors include her mother, June M. Piper of Fostoria; husband, William M. "Bill" Black of Tiffin; daughter, Jocelyn Black of Columbus; son, Adam (Cassandra) Black of Dublin ; brothers, Steven (Cathy) Painter and Michael (Pamela) Painter, both of Fostoria; and sister, Jennie (John) Mueller of Mentor; in-laws, Caroline (Junior) Kuhn, Nancy Black, Jim (Suzanne) Black, John (Joyce) Black and Steve (Nancy) Black.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Painter; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thurman and Anna Black; and brother-in-law, Thomas E. Black.

Julie was a 1983 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School and also graduated from Tiffin Hair Academy.  Julie started her career at Fiesta Hair Fashion, then with Lori Tanner on Second Ave. and at Carmie's Beauty Salon for many years.  She was a member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel (former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom) and enjoyed camping, going to concerts, back yard parties, drinking a Coors and her animals.  Julie loved her family, especially her children.

Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at All Saints Parish with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Parish, New Riegel or to Ohio Living Hospice.
