Katherine Elizabeth Briggs, 31, of Tiffin, went home to the Lord on Saturday morning, December 21, 2013 at the University of Toledo Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 28, 1982, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Barbara Bishop and the late Bob Briggs.
Survivors include her mother, Barbara and her beloved papa, Gregory Bishop of Tiffin; three brothers, Brian (Rachel) Briggs of Tiffin, Brady (Tasha) Briggs of Columbus, Kevin (Stefanie) Briggs of Ashland; niece, Megan Briggs; seven nephews, Joshua, Tommy, Colen, Carson, Anthony, Andrew and Brandon Briggs; grandparents Albert J. "Allie" and Jane Allman of Tiffin; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father; paternal grandparents Jim and AnnaBelle Briggs and Lucille Bishop; various aunts and uncles.
Katie graduated from Angeline School and attended Angeline Industries in Upper Sandusky. She was employed at the Seneca County Opportunity Center Sheltered Workshop in Tiffin. Katie's sweet demeanor and beautiful smile touched all those that she met. She loved music, going out to eat, and being with family, friends and the staff and her fellow employees at the workshop.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Francis Convent Chapel, 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, with Rev. Frank Murd officiating assisted by Sr. Mary Kuhlman, a long time family friend. Burial will follow in St. Francis Convent Cemetery.
Friends may visit and share stories with the family from 4-7:00 P.M. followed by a Christian Wake Service on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. There will also be visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Francis Convent.
Memorial contributions may be made to Angeline School and Industries, Seneca County Opportunity Center or Wyandot County Council on Birth Defects.
