Obituary

Kathleen A. Fiegelist, 88, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

She was born October 13, 1922, in Willard, to George and Elizabeth (Finkler) Teeple. She married John J. Fiegelist August 2, 1943, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, John T. (Martha A.) Fiegelist and Michael J. (Peggy) Fiegelist, both of Tiffin; a daughter, Mary Ann (David) Pahl of Cape Coral, FL; a sister, Marilyn Griffin of Newark, DE; six grandchildren, Lisa Weimer, Ann Marie Burkart, Scott Fiegelist, Jennifer Corrigan, Matthew Pahl and Christine Beard; eight great-grandsons, George, Isaac and John Burkart; Jacob and Samuel Weimer; Alex and Julian Pahl; and Garrett Corrigan.

Preceding her in death along with her husband of 58 years, John, on August 25, 2001; is a brother, John Teeple; and a sister, Mar Jean Kinn.

Kathleen was a 1940 graduate of St. Wendelin High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella. After high school, she worked at the Fostoria Review Times and later in the cafeteria for Tiffin City Schools. She worked for 20 years at the Advertiser-Tribune, in the editorial department and wrote many articles on local people and interests. She was a member of the Seneca County Historical Society and was a volunteer for Mercy Tiffin Hospital and St. Francis Home. She enjoyed reading, train watching, crossword puzzles, collecting unusual names and traveling to Amish country and northern Michigan.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 AM, Friday, January 21, 2011, at St. Francis Home Chapel, with Rev. Joseph Szybka and Rev. Kieran Kay officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424. Additional visitation will be 10:30 - 11:30 AM, Friday, January 21, 2011, at St. Francis Home Chapel.
