Kathleen M. "Kate" Shireman, 84, of Old Fort, passed away on Thursday morning, January 23, 2014 at Elmwood at the Springs, Green Springs, OH.

She was born on October 6, 1929, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Alvin S. and Cordell M. (Hoover) Krupp. She married Calvin Shireman on August 22, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1976.

Survivors include her son, Stephen (Karen) Shireman of Old Fort; 3 daughters, Lisa (Mark) Hickle and Debra (Kevin) Ryman, both of Tiffin and Sharon (Greg) Miller of Bettsville; brother, Richard E. "Butch" Yoakum of Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; son, Ronald Shireman; brother, Alvin "Butch" Krupp; 2 sisters, Mary Lou "Susie" Snay and Cleo Krupp; and 1 grandchild, Kyle Ryman in 2001.

Kathleen graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School and attended Terra Community College. She worked at Tiffin Glass House for 20 years, was a food demonstrator at Foodtown and helped the elderly for many years. Kathleen enjoyed playing Bingo.

Her funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-2424 with Pastor Keith Koppenhofer officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Union Cemetery in Old Fort.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday, January 27, 2014 at the funeral home.
