Obituary

Kathryn Jean "Kathy" Scherger, 48, of New Riegel, passed away Sunday morning, March 24, 2013 at Bridge Hospice in Findlay.

She was born on March 28, 1964, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Earl and Rosella (Frank) Kreais. On May 3, 1991, she married William "Willie" Scherger.

Survivors include her parents, Earl and Rosella of Fostoria; husband, Willie of New Riegel; son, John Scherger of New Riegel; 4 brothers, Ken (Connie) Kreais of Findlay, Ron Kreais, Kevin (Kim) Kreais and Gary (Jenny) Kreais, all of Fostoria; sister, Patty (Dean Stell) Kreais, of Fostoria; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Kathy graduated from St. Wendelin High School in 1982 and from Toledo University in 1986 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. She worked in the accounting department at Roppe Corporation in Fostoria, for over 20 years and was a member of All Saints Parish in New Riegel. Kathy was active and past president of the PTO for many years and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 354 in New Riegel. Kathy enjoyed playing cards with friends, spending time at the New Riegel Moose and summer vacations at Apple Valley, Ohio with her family. Her favorite sports teams were The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns and she enjoyed attending every event for her nieces and nephews sports.

A Service of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at All Saints Parish in New Riegel, with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass.

Friends may visit and share stories from 2-4:00 P.M. and 6-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 1:30 P.M. The American Legion Auxiliary Service will be at 3:45 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Parish in New Riegel, F.A.C.T. and Bridge Hospice in Findlay.
