Kenneth Franklin Ward, 90, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday morning, October 5, 2016 at his home.
He was born on March 3, 1926, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Frank D. and Mildred A. (Lutz) Ward. On August 29, 1947, he married Margaret "Peg" Adams.
Survivors include his wife, Peg, of Tiffin; sons, Kenneth D. (Paula) Ward of Port Clinton, Larry L. (Linda) Ward of Stevensville, MI, Reginald A. (Elaine) Ward of St. Louis, MO; daughters, Sharon Pitzen of Fountain City, Indiana, Cindy Jordan of Tiffin and Nancy (Steve) Stapp of Tipp City; brother, Arthur (Shirley) Ward of TN; sister, Phyllis (Robert) Wisebaker of Tiffin; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 3 great, great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Bobbie Ward; and sister, Margaret A. Riddle.
Ken graduated in 1944 from Tiffin Columbian High School and from Tiffin University. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Germany and Japan. Ken was manager and owner of Brinnons Paint Store. He then worked in Toledo as a CPA for Carl Zerner for 3 years, Buckmeyer and King for 14 years and Greg Parker for 8 years. Ken then owned his own CPA business, Clinton Accounting, up until last summer.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Tiffin Masonic Bodies, served on the board of directors for the Kiwanis Manor for 12 years, served as Kiwanis club president in 1960, and was a member of Tiffin Shrine Club where he was secretary and treasurer for 15 years. He was also elected to the school board at Clinton School and served as president and clerk. Ken enjoyed riding his bike and even rode in Alaska.
His funeral service will be at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Clayton J. Bailey officiating. The Masonic Lodge will also have services at the Church. Burial will be at Fairmont Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:30 P.M. until the time of the Service on Saturday at First Lutheran Church. .
Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or to Marcy's Caring Heart and Hands.
