Kurt J. Klopfenstein, 60, of Piketon, passed away Tuesday evening, March 26, 2013 at SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, OH.

He was born on August 13, 1952, in Tiffin, OH, to Carl G. and Esther (Willoughby) Klopfenstein.

Survivors include two brothers, Kris D. (Susan) Klopfenstein of Tiffin and Kraig T. (Diane) Klopfenstein of Des Moines, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother, Bruce C. Klopfenstein in 2011.

Kurt was in a group home for many years in Southern Ohio and worked in a workshop for the handicapped. He enjoyed puzzles, arts and crafts, and outings with his group to the zoo and other areas. Kurt was also a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoyed collecting OSU memorabilia.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family from 10-11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A graveside service will follow at Attica Venice Cemetery with his brother, Kraig Klopfenstein officiating.
