Larry D. Hatley, 72, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 23, 2014 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

He was born on June 13, 1941, in Washington, D.C., to Robert and Eileen (Brane) Hatley. On July 10, 1965, he married Joyce R. Cira.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; son, Todd (Christina) Hatley of Chicago, IL; daughter, Susan (Carl) Schafer of Tiffin; and 4 grandchildren, Alex and Carly Schafer and Royce and Cira Hatley.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Larry graduated from Colonel White High School in Dayton, Ohio and retired in 1996, after 30 years, as a Revenue officer for the Treasury Department in Lima. He was in the United States Air Force from from July 27, 1959 to June 21, 1963. He moved to Tiffin a year ago from Lima and enjoyed eating out, playing tennis at Orchard Hill Tennis Club in Lima and watching sports; especially his grandchildren's sports. He also enjoyed volunteering at St. Rita's Medical Center. Larry had a great sense of humor and was an overall good guy who loved his family and his Golden Retrievers and he will be greatly missed.

His visitation and funeral service will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Home or Community Hospice Care.
