Larry K. Murphy, 56, of Tiffin, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

On May 31, 1952 he was born in Tiffin to Vernon and Norma (Smith) Murphy. On October 20, 1973 he married Jan D. Mowery.

Survivors include his wife, Jan; mother, Norma Thomas of Toledo; two daughters, Shelly (Brad) Warnement of Republic; Cori (Justin Hoepf) Murphy of Tiffin; two brothers, Denny Murphy of Tiffin; Jim Murphy of Missouri; a sister, Peggy (John) Crum of Tiffin; and five grandchildren; Bradlee, Devyn, Reed, Callum, and Blaine.

Preceding him in death is his father, Vernon Murphy.

Larry was a 1971 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and proudly served in the US Army from 1972-1973. He owned Murphy's Building and Remodeling for over 20 years, and also worked for many construction crews around Tiffin. He enjoyed his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, golfing, playing guitar, music, and supporting TC Football.

A memorial service will be 11 am Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St. Tiffin, Ohio, 419-447-2424, with Chaplain Tress Hodkinson officiating. Presentation of the Flag, conducted by the United Veterans Council will follow the memorial service. There is no burial at this time.

Friends may visit with the family 2-6 pm, Friday, March 20, 2009 at the funeral home.
