Larry J. Smith, 59, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 17, 2013 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.

He was born on October 4, 1954, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Joe and Dorothy (Mellott) Smith.

Survivors include his parents, Joe and Dorothy, of Tiffin; brother, Michael (Amy) Smith of Tiffin; sister, Kathy Smith of Ramona, CA; nieces and nephews, Abrie, Ryder, Brett, Chad, Kristy and Mindy; and 8 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Karen Smith.

Larry graduated in 1974 from Old Fort High School, was a member of Old Fort United Church of Christ and retired in 2013 from Clyde Whirlpool after 35 years. He enjoyed following sprint car racing at Attica and Fremont and was an Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Rev. Kathy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
