Laura Lou Schubert, 96, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday, August 05, 2026. Lou has now been reunited with her loving husband, Harold.
She was born on June 14, 1930, in Melmore, Ohio, to George Irwin and Margaret Grace (Harper) Graham. On December 20, 1947, in Angola, Indiana, she married Harold L. Schubert.
She is survived by her daughters, Jane Schubert of Tiffin and Marcia (Marshall) Blue of Norwalk; grandchildren, Kelly (Shafter) Baker of Kendallville, IN, Bryan Blue of Norwalk, Timothy (Diane) Hoover of Battle Creek, MI and Douglas (Carrie) Hoover of Tiffin; step grandson, Steve (Jane) Hoover of Tiffin; numerous great grandchildren; great, great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 72 years, Harold Lewis Schubert; daughter, Lois Kathryn (Schubert) Hoover; sisters, Dianna Burke and Margaret Ann Graham; and step grandsons, Jamie Hoover and Jerry Hoover.
Growing up, Lou’s favorite thing was riding in her wagon with her large teddy bear. She attended Melmore High School. Lou enjoyed working as a cashier at the A&P while residing in Tiffin and while in Florida, she worked in the bakery at Publix and Sweetbay grocery store. She was a volunteer delivering meals and making blood runs to hospitals, loved to cook for her family and friends, especially her favorite meal, chicken and biscuits Lou was a faithful member of her church, both in Bradenton, FL, as well as Tiffin, OH. Prior to retirement, she maintained a home on Indian Lake and lived most of her retirement in Bradenton, FL, where she and her husband enjoyed the sunshine for 26 years. In 2017, she returned to Tiffin. Lou was a member of Daughters of America and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 169.
Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Pastor Charlene Thomas officiating, Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Service on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Seneca County F.A.C.T., Faith United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
