Lauren M. Hurd-Van Pelt, 25, of Cold Spring, KY and formerly of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 28, 2014 as a result of an auto accident in Miami County.


On May 31, 1988 in Tiffin, she was born to Matt and Lynn (Von Aschen) Hurd. She married Brett Van Pelt on June 21, 2013 in West Chester.
Survivors include her husband, Brett of Cold Spring, KY; parents, Matt and Lynn Hurd of Tiffin; brother, Aaron (FiancAC. Andrea Sanner) of Raleigh Durham, NC; grandparents, Ken and Bev Hurd of Galion; Sue Von Aschen of Piqua; in laws, Doug and Donna Nelson of Batavia; Rick Van Pelt of Cincinnati; and her furry friend, Finley.


She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Von Aschen.


Lauren graduated from Tiffin Columbian in 2006 and from Bowling Green State University in 2010 where she met her husband. Her drive, motivation and her love of the "Big City" took her to Chicago for four years after graduation and most recently to Cold Spring, KY where she was a Procurement Manager for Danaher Motion in Marengo, IL. She enjoyed traveling overseas for her career and vacationing with her husband and family, reading, and shopping.


A Memorial Service will be Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, 419-447-2424 with Pastor Daniel Turner of the Community Church of Christ in Galion officiating. There will be no burial at this time.


Friends may visit and share stories with the family on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 4-8 at the funeral home.
