Leona Leaver, 93, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday afternoon, January 12, 2015 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

She was born on April 6, 1921, in Manns Choice, PA, to Gilbert and Ella G. (Harclerode) Stockenus. She married Oliver K. Messersmith and they divorced. They had six children, Kenneth (Betty) Messersmith of Tiffin, Bob (Mary) Messersmith and Tom (Margaret) Messersmith, both of Norwalk, Bonnie (the late, John) Smith of Tiffin, Linda (John) Droll of McCutchenville and Pat (Richard Southward) Messersmith of Carey. She married Jeff Leaver on July 15, 1973, and he survives in Tiffin and he has six children, Mike and Bob Leaver, Nancy Sherwood, Patricia Misner, Winifred Harras and Carol Beaton. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; and good friend, Betty Hannan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, 1 sister; and a set of twins.

Leona was a member of New Beginnings Assembly of God and was an assembler at RCA in Findlay for 17 years. She and Jeff loved to travel. She was very proud to be a fifth generation grandma.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at New Beginnings Assembly of God with Rev. Rex King officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Service on Friday at New Beginnings Assembly of God.
