Lester M. Arbogast, 77, of Carey, passed away Saturday morning, September 12, 2015 at his home.
He was born on July 21, 1938, in Seneca County, to Charles and Loretta (Reinhart) Arbogast. On April 20, 1963, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, he married Eloise Piper.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise of Carey; three sons, Kevin Arbogast of Alvada, Brian (Dawn) Arbogast of New Riegel and Randal (Heather) Arbogast of Alvada; one daughter, Laura (Ed) Eddington of New Riegel; two brothers, Harlan (Rosemary) Arbogast of Tiffin and Louis Arbogast of Fostoria; two sisters, Marguerite (Eugene) Boes of Alvada and Rita Mae (Robert) Kelbley of New Riegel; 7 grandchildren, Kevin, Jr., Eric, Daniel, Taylor, Brandon, Bradley and Cassidy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and six brothers, Paul, Lawrence, Urban, Eugene, Marion and infant brother, Joseph.
Lester graduated in 1956 from McCutchenville High School and was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Frenchtown. After high school, he served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963 stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas. He retired in 1993 from Atlas Crankshaft, Fostoria after 24 years, was a lifetime farmer and was a field drainage contractor for several years. Lester was a member of the New Riegel American Legion Post 354, the New Riegel Moose #872 and enjoyed working on his farm and playing Euchre.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at All Saints Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Frenchtown with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery, Frenchtown with military honors being conducted by the New Reigel American Legion Post #354.
Friends may visit with the family from 2-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass on Wednesday at All Saints Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Frenchtown.
Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Frenchtown, New Riegel EMS and Fire Department or to a charity of the donor's choice.
