Obituary

Levon "Tootie" Evelyn Schrenk, 83, of Tiffin, died February 2, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.

On July 13, 1925 in Bettsville, she was born to Carl "Pop" and Bernice (Figle) Shriver. She married Charles F. Schrenk Sr. on October 18, 1941.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Charles, two daughters, Kathleen "Kay" Sevenich of Delta; Loretta "Jean" Corfman of Tiffin; two sons, Charles "Butch" (Joyce) Schrenk Jr. and Robert "Bob" Schrenk both of Tiffin; brother, Carmen (Joann) Shriver of Bettsville; and a sister, Betty Smith of Bettsville; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Tootie was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Roy, infant brothers, Charles and Robert, and an infant sister, Mary.

Levon was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church, a Tiffin Mother's Club, which still meets once a month and volunteered at the Sharing Kitchen. She loved to knit, donating her talent to the church, knitting thousands of hats and blankets for the church and donated them around the world. Her talent was also appreciated locally as she knitted hats for the fireman to wear under their helmets and for Tiffin Firefighters Christmas Toy Drive for many years. Levon donated her time to others as a volunteer at Betty Jane Center for 50 years and Tiffin Columbian Music Boosters for 13 years. She was also Woman of the Year.
Levon was happiest when her grandchildren and great grandchildren were running around; she loved them all the same.

A Funeral service will be Friday, February 6, 2009 at 11:30 AM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Howe officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery.
