Lila Mae Faber, 91, of Tiffin, passed away Friday evening, March 27, 2026, at the Willows at Tiffin.
She was born on June 17, 1934, in Seneca County, to Jacob and Mary Ann (Tiell) Welly. On June 20, 1953, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, she married Richard Faber and he preceded her in death on May 15, 2015.
Survivors include her sons, Stephen (Linda) Faber of Tiffin, Joseph (Debbie) Faber of Marion, Michael Faber, of Tiffin, Herbert (Teresa) Faber of Tiffin, Jerald (Linda) Faber of Fostoria, James (Elaine) Faber of New Riegel, Milton Faber of Dallas, TX and Donald (Teresa) Faber of Tiffin; daughters, Catherine Faber of Tiffin, Mary Ann (Lamar) Dickman of Green Springs, Jennifer (Charlie) Zoeller of Tiffin; Fran (Gregory) Kimmet of New Riegel, and Angie (Paul) Depinet of Tiffin; brother, Joseph (Mary Ann) Welly of Tiffin; sister, Mary (Frank) Reineck of Oak Harbor; 34 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and 1 great, great grandchild, with 1 on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Welly, Martin Welly and Charles Welly; and sisters, Florence Reinhart, Louise Mackling and Tillie Gerschutz; granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Faber; and a great grandchild, Tavi Berindean.
Lila graduated in 1952 from Hopewell-Loudon High School. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Grange, Daughters of Isabella, St. Joseph Catholic Church Altar Society, a 1977 Ohio Federation Mothers of Twins State Mother of the Year, 1968, 1977, and 2007 Tiffin Mother of Twins Mother of the Year, 1979-1980 President of Tiffin Mother of Twins. She Volunteered her time at soup kitchens, Tiffin Hospital, School of Opportunity, and St. Joseph Catholic Church Festival. She enjoyed planting and caring for her large garden every year, canning, baking bread, making floral arrangements for weddings, crafting, and attending her card and Country Extension clubs.
Her Funeral Mass will be at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Evarist Miku Massawe officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
