Linda D. Lonsbury, 77, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 11, 2026, at Elmwood at The Shawhan.

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude, we remember and celebrate the life of our beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She truly was the definition of love, and grace.

Linda was born on February 24, 1948, to Earle C. and Barbara M. (Springstead) Shade, in Sandusky, Ohio. On November 5, 1966, she married Samuel Lonsbury.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, John Cooper, and grandson, David Cooper.

She is survived by her son, Mark (Patty) Lonsbury, of Tiffin; daughter, Julie (Andy) Richards, of Tiffin, OH and Pinckney, MI; brothers, Gary S. (Jackie) Shade, of Youngstown, Forrest J. Shade, of Sandusky; sisters, Donna M. (Joe) Washek, of Lancaster, Anita L. (Clarence) Rodriguez, of Sandusky; 5 grandchildren, Shelby George, Kimberly (Sam) Molnar, Katelyn (Ryan) Miller, Tony (Chelsea) George, Charlie (Danielle) George; 7 great grandchildren, Reagan, Ella, Macy, Riley, Rowen, Carson, and Elliot.

Linda was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, a 1966 graduate of Huron High School, and worked as a coordinator at Kiwanis Manor from 1987-2020.

Linda had the kindest soul; whose presence made the world feel warmer and brighter. Music lived in her heart, and she joyfully shared that gift as a devoted member of her church's choir. Whether through song or through dance, she expressed her love for life fully. She loved to dance-no matter the day, the music, audience, or the setting. Her joy was contagious; she always put a smile on the faces of those around her. She loved deeply and without condition. She knew no stranger and had an extraordinary gift of making everyone feel like they belonged. Her spirit touched countless lives, not only within her family but throughout her community. Lake Erie held a special place in her heart and soul; it was more than a place she loved, it was a part of who she was. The calm, beauty, and strength of the lake reflected the way she lived her life. Above all, she was the best mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her love into each generation. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering devotion. She was cherished deeply by all who were blessed to know her.

Though she has left this earth, her love and light will continue to live on in our hearts. She was, and always will be, our forever angel.

Friends may visit with the family from 10-11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Faith United Methodist Church, 75 N Sandusky St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. at the church, with Rev. Charlene Thomas officiating. The committal service will follow at Seneca Memory Gardens.
