She was preceded in death by two children, Rita and Timothy Reis; three sisters, Lois Meeker, Doris Buskirk and Wanda Reis; two brothers, Ray and Harold Culver; her great granddaughter, Alexandria Goodwin; her husband and parents.

Loretta graduated from Melmore High School in 1940 and a year later from Warner Beauty College in Toledo. She and her sister, Lois sang and played the banjo and guitar. Performing as The Culver Sisters, they won many talent competitions, playing and singing on WTOL Radio in Toledo, and at dances throughout Seneca County and surrounding areas. She worked as a beautician, as a factory supervisor at Columbia Burner during WWII and later in the accounting department at the National Ohio Breeders Association until the late 1950's. She cared for her father-in-law, Bert Reis, for several years, and upon the birth of her daughter, Rita, became an unintentional expert in providing care and support to a child with severe cerebral palsy. Her hobbies included assembling puzzles and playing cards. She was kind, thoughtful and loved to be with people. She kept extended family close with phone calls and letters. Her welcome mat was always out, along with a delicious meal on the table and clean linens on the extra beds.
