Louise Tidwell Coan, 86, of Tiffin, died Wednesday evening, November 19, 2008, at Elmwood at the Shawhan Assisted Living.

On September 27, 1922, she was born in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, to Glenn and Myrtle (Ladd) Tidwell. On November 16, 1940, she married Carlton H. Coan, he later died on June 8, 1994.

Survivors include a daughter Linda (Jim) Coan Phillips of Tiffin, OH and one granddaughter, Laura Mellor of Middleburg Heights, OH.

Preceding her in death are both of her parents, and her husband, Carlton H. Coan.

Louise is a graduate of Knoxville High School and a member Sequoyah Presbyterian Church. She moved to Tiffin in 2001 to be with her daughter, Linda. While living in Tiffin, Louise was a member of Mohawk Golf and Country Club. She was also a very skillful bridge player and she loved baseball. While she was married to Carlton, who worked for ALCOA, she lived in many different places during her life, such as Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Texas, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica. She and Carlton also enjoyed traveling to Italy.

Graveside services will be at Memorial Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Monday, November 24, 2008.
