Louise F. Hoover, 69, of Tiffin, died Saturday morning, October 24, 2009 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center of Tiffin.
On May 23, 1940 in Timberville, VA; she was born to Owen D. and Vernona (Summers) Mathias. She married John C. Hoover on September 10, 1960.
Survivors include a daughter, Christine (Steve) Thom of Tiffin; brothers, Doug, Gary, and Dennis Mathias, sister, Ruth Kenepp, 4 grandchildren, Steven and Kyle Thom, Brandy and Brittany Cook, and a great grandson, Brody Lange.
Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband of 38 years, John, on May 30, 1999, is a daughter, Barbara J. Cook on December 2, 2006, and a sister, Mary Ann Mathias.
Louise was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and a 1960 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. She worked in the Deli Department at Kroger's for many years and later in the Deli Department at IGA. She enjoyed the simple things in life, such as playing cards, bird watching and gardening. Louise also loved sports, especially The Ohio State football team and the Cleveland Browns and Indians.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 27, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, Chapel with Chaplain Ruth Lynch officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Greenlawn cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday October 27, 2009 from 12-2 PM at the Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Volunteers of America, Autumnwood Care Center or to a charity of the donor's choice.
