Louise Rose Zirger, 98, of Tiffin, passed away on Saturday morning, June 18, 2016 at St. Francis Home.

She was born on October 15, 1917, in Carey, Ohio, to Aloyouss P. and Marie (Pflueger) Ruffing. On June 19, 1939, in St. Mary Catholic Church, she married Richard Zirger and he preceded her in death on January 24, 1982.

Survivors include her sons, Frederick (Kay) Zirger of Tiffin, Karl (Barbara) Zirger of Plainfield, NJ, Philip (Sheri) Zirger of Tiffin; daughters, Marie Vera of Tiffin, Nina (Don) Howard of Adrian, MI, Jane (Steve) Hoover of Tiffin and Ellen (Mike) Millott of Kalida; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Christine Zirger; son Martin Zirger; sisters, Esther Ferguson, Ruth Calhoon, Mary Ruffing; son-in-law, Joe Vera; and 4 grandchildren.

Louise graduated in 1935, as valedictorian, from Carey High School, attended Tiffin University and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She worked at Tiffin Scenic Studios where she met her husband, Richard and in 1960, they started Mohawk Nursery.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 15 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 8:45-9:45 A.M. on Tuesday at the church, prior to Mass.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
