Lovelle, J. "Jerry" Smith, 67, of Tiffin, passed away Monday afternoon, February 28, 2011 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

He was born August 26, 1943 in Whitesburg, KY. He married Christine Kraus on January 29, 1965 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Jane Smith of AZ; wife of 46 years, Christine, a daughter, Linda (Keith) Price of Tiffin; a son, Mike (Fred Cushing) Smith of San Francisco, CA; and 4 grandchildren, Brandon, Alex, Austin, and Marissa.

Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army from 1962 -1968. He moved to Tiffin in 1968 and worked for Lee's Floor Covering as an installer for over 40 years. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 402, Moose Lodge 846, American Legion Post 169, VFW Post 2858, and Am Vets Post 48. Jerry enjoyed gardening and spending time with his wife and family; especially his grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory. The United Veterans Council will conduct services at the funeral home at 6:00 pm.

There will be no burial at this time.
