Mabel L. Shoner, 82, of Bloomville, and formerly of Tiffin, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 8, 2013 at Ruffing Care Center in Bloomville.
She was born on March 10, 1931, in Athens County, to Thomas and Nettie (Brooks) Love. On April 12, 1947, she married Alden Shoner and he passed away on January 10, 2011.
Survivors include a son, George Shoner of Teaticket, MA; 3 daughters, Crystal Mcbride and Brenda (Gary) Magers, both of Tiffin and Cynthia (Roger) Mills of Arcadia; brother, Thomas Love, Jr. of Creedmoore, NC; sister, Mary Gibson of LaPort, IN; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marion Love; and sister, Rhea Nott.
Mabel worked at Tiffin Glass House and will always be known as the "greeter" at the nursing home; where she lived for almost 20 years. She enjoyed babysitting and loved all children; especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Pastor Hannah Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Fund at Ruffing Care Center, Bloomville.
