Obituary

Margaret M Schleter, 95, of Tiffin, passed Friday evening June 21, 2019 at St Francis Home.

She was born August 15, 1923, in Tiffin, to Louis and Irma (Roos) Gaietto. She married Arthur B. Schleter on October 12, 1946 in St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her two sons, Mark A. (Denise) Schleter of Mesa, AZ., and Michael L. Schleter of Tiffin; sister, Sr. Mary Angela (Irene) Gaietto, O.S.V,  of Toledo; two sisters-in-law, Mary Gaietto of Tiffin and Darlene Gaietto of Tenn., 4 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vincent (Margaret) Gaietto, Eugene (Arlene) Gaietto, Joseph R. Gaietto, Louis (Thelma) Gaietto, Lawrence (Margaret) Gaietto, and Thomas B. Gaietto; sisters and brother-in-law, Sr. M. Merici (Angeline) Gaietto, and Irma (Ivan) Hill Sr.

Margaret graduated from Calvert High School in 1941, and was member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and of St Mary's Altar Society. She was a member of Daughter of Isabella, Seneca County Home Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary, County & State Federation of Farm Women's Club, and County & State Federation of Grandmother Club, named Grandmother of Ohio in 1987.  She was a 3rd grade teacher at St. Mary's School and had her own business of decorating and making wedding cakes and catering. Margaret was a devoted farm wife, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.

Her Mass will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Walters and her nephew, Rev. Edward Schleter officiating. A Rosary will prayed 20 minutes prior to mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with family from 4-7:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 26, 2019, followed by a wake service at 7:00 P.M. at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, and (419) 447-2424.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic School, Ursuline Sisters of Toledo, St. Francis Home, Bridge Hospice or to charity of Donor's choice.
