Obituary

Margaret R. 'Marge' Weithman, 84, of Tiffin, died Wednesday afternoon, November 4, 2009, at St. Francis Home of Tiffin.

May 12, 1925, she was born in Seneca County to Otto and Mary Clara (Wagner) Zirger. August 1, 1945, she married Donald A. Weithman in St. Joseph Catholic Church and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include five daughters, Linda (Steven) Smith of Sanibel Island, FL, Kathy (Greg) Sykes of Tiffin, Mary (Bob) Gaver of Perrysburg, Pat (Tim) DeMonte of Tiffin and Dr. Robban (Jeffrey Sternberg) Sica-Sternberg of Trumbull, CT, 23 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death along with parents and husband, is a daughter, Virginia Weithman, two brothers, Richard and Robert Zirger, a 6 year old sister, Gertrude Weithman and a great-grandson, Owen Robert Glick.

Marge was a 1943 graduate of Calvert High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She volunteered for SCAT, Girl Scouts, Heartbeat of Tiffin, Right to Life Tiffin Chapter, United Way and Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center where she performed religious activities for 20 years. She was a founding member of Camp Pleasant Valley. Marge always helped others, opening her home to 13 Vietnamese refugees. She enjoyed spending time with her children.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 AM, Saturday, November 7, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family 3-7 PM, Friday, November 6, or 10-11 AM, Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424. A Christian wake service will be 7:00 PM, Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center or St. Francis Home.
