Margaret H. Theis, 74, of New Riegel, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 1, 2013 at St. Francis Home in Tiffin.
She was born on August 27, 1938, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Anthony and Corrine (Kelbley) Theis.
Survivors include 2 sisters, Theresa (Joe) Carp of New Riegel and Anna Schlick of Wickliffe, OH; 4 nieces, Laura (Rich) Vild of Willoughby, Cindy (Rick) Frankart of Findlay, Tina (Joe) Nye of New Riegel and Linda (Dave) Bosse of Willowick; nephew, Joe Carp of St. Petersburg, FL; and great nieces and nephews, Ashley and Tonya Frankart, Abby Vild, Andy, Gabrielle and Dominic Nye.
She was preceded in death by her parents; niece, Dianna Schlick; and brother-in-law, Bill Schlick.
Margaret graduated from New Riegel High School in 1957 and worked at Newberry's Department Store until they closed and then at Big Lots for over 20 years; retiring in 2003. She was a member of All Saints Parish in New Riegel where she sang in the choir and played the organ, was a member of the Rosary Alter Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She enjoyed polka music and was a Lawrence Welk and Myron Floren fan; attending many of their concerts. Margaret also enjoyed doing genealogy and was a member of the Seneca County Genealogy Society. Her favorite pastime was playing the accordion.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at All Saints Parish, New Riegel with Rev. Frank Murd officiating. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 4-8:00 P.M. at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Parish, New Riegel, New Riegel Music Boosters or a charity of the donor's choice.
