Obituary

Margie L. Shumaker, 80, of Tiffin, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

On April 9, 1928, she was born in Bucyrus to Harold and Evelyn (Downing) Ream. On June 30, 1945, she married Walter S. Shumaker in Tyro, Ohio.

Survivors include two sons Richard Shumaker of Hawaii, David (Deb) Shumaker of Tiffin, two daughters, Linda (Terry) Haugh of Taylor, MI, Lucinda (Ed) DeLong of Kemp, OK, one brother, Raymond (Connie) Ream of Bucyrus, two sisters, Patsy Bauer of Galion, OH, Shirley Wilburn of Bucyrus, OH, eighteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, along with her parents, are her husband, Walter S. Shumaker and a brother, David Ream.

Margie was a member of Bascom United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for 20 years. She also made bread for the communion at the church. She and her husband farmed in the Bascom are for 53 years. In her free time she enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, gardening and flowers. Margie will be remembered by her family as a terrific baker.

Her funeral service is 10:30am Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, with Pastor Cal Cook and Pastor Shirley Stacey officiating. Burial will follow in Sandridge Cemetery in Bascom.

Friends may visit with the family, 4-8pm Friday, November 21, 2008, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424.
