Mrs. Maria Buko, aged 92, of Tiffin, died at her home on April 22, 2020, after several months of declining health.

She was born on June 23, 1927, in Tokod, Hungary and has been a resident of Tiffin since 1949.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Maria (Dale) Buchanan, Barbara (Gary) Misko, Elizabeth-Clara (John) Kiesel and Margaret (Ron) LaWare; brother, Alex Lachner; two grandsons, Paul and Andrew Kiesel; and many nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steve; sister, Kathryn Sorg; and two sons-in-law, G. Dale Buchanan and Ronald LaWare.

Maria was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years and a member of the Fremont Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 712 Ladies Auxiliary.

Funeral arrangements are in the hands of Hoffmann-Gottfried Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.  Due to the Covid-19 virus, there will be no visitation or wake service.  Internment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery beside her husband, Steve.

The family wishes to acknowledge the assistance and loving care provided to our mother by Angie, Joyce, the Fremont Heartland Hospice Team, especially Amanda and Jen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert High School, Heartland Hospice, or a charity of the donor's choice.

A memorial service for friends and extended family will be scheduled at a later date.
