Marilyn A. Kastner, 90, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, October 12, 2016 at St. Francis Home.
She was born on March 11, 1926, in Fremont, Ohio to Bernard L. and Catherine (Kuns) Hamilton. On March 2, 1946, in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Fremont, she married Paul R. Kastner and he preceded her in death on February 24, 2002.
Survivors include her three sons, Joseph (Cookie) Kastner and John (Denise) Kastner, both of Tiffin and Michael (Betsey) Kastner of Toledo; daughter, Carol (Gerald) Coleman of Tiffin; daughter-in-law, Jean Kastner of Findlay; 12 grandchildren, Carrie Beltz of Findlay, Amy (Brian) Drown of CA, Angie (Michael) Lambert of Tiffin, Amanda (Erik) Marshall of Cleveland, Kristen (Jay) Meyer of Van Buren and Erika (Matthew) McKinney of GA, Michelle Kastner of Toledo, Melissa (Ryan) Guffey of Dearborn, MI, Matthew Kastner of Allentown, PA, Laura Replogle of Sandusky, Beth Amos of Tiffin and Jason (Julie) Coleman of Tiffin; and 10 great grandchildren, Brittany, Sydney, David, Asher, Elijah, Noah, Rudy, Charles, Jr., McKenzie and Dominic.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, James Kastner; three brothers, George, William and Raymond; sister, Mary Jo Gase; and two grandchildren, Andrew J. Kastner and Adam J. Kastner.
Marilyn graduated in 1944 from Fremont High School and was an LPN at Mercy Hospital for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling the United States, going to lunch with fellow retired nurses, and quilting. She gave everyone in her family a quilt. Marilyn also loved animals, especially her cats, Patches and Minnow.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday, October 17, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2-5:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 2:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the Humane Society of Seneca County.
