Marjorie K. Ewald, 92, of Tiffin, died Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

On June 19, 1916 she was born to Ralph Good and Irma (Smith) Kleckner in Painesville, Ohio. On August 23, 1947, she married Charles Richard Ewald, and he died on August 13, 1988.

Survivors include a son, Jonathan K. (Diana) Ewald of rural Tiffin, four grandchildren, Holly (Derrick) Szepiela, Laura (Christopher) Snyder, Mark Richard (Andrea) Ewald, Jonathan (Kristinea) Ewald, four great-grandchildren Logan Kepler, Zachary and Andrew Szepiela, Nathan Snyder, Aiden Ewald, and one expected, Joseph Ewald.

Marjorie attended College Hill School in Tiffin, and later graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1934. She obtained her Bachelor Degree from Heidelberg College in 1938, and in 1941 she received her Bachelor of Library Science from the School of Library Science at Western Reserve University. She taught English and was a librarian. She taught at Roosevelt Jr. High School in Middletown for two years and at Old Fort High School for four years. She served as librarian of the Tiffin Public Library for eight years and of the junior high school at Fremont for 15 years. She was a life-long member of Trinity United Church of Christ, a past regent of Dolly Todd Madison Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, the organizing president of Robert Scothorn Chapter of Colonial Dames XVII Century.

A Funeral Service is 3pm, Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Rev. Dr. Louis Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may gather with the family 2pm to 3pm, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home.
