Martha B. "Marty" Mokry, 83, of Tiffin, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

She was born on September 26, 1931, in West Lafayette, Ohio, to John Clifford and Alta (Garner) Briner. In June of 1951, she married Robert F. Mokry and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Marcia (Stephen) Shockley-Rhoad of Tiffin; son, Rob (Gretchen) Mokry of San Francisco, CA; 3 sisters, Cherie (Norman) Cole of West Virginia, Beverly (Bernie) Craft of FL and Mary Nan Bond of Ohio; and 4 grandchildren, Robert C. Mokry, Christopher D. Shockley, Stephanie L. Shockley, and Alicia Mokry.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Clifford Briner.

Marty graduated from Ward-Belmont School for Girls in Nashville, Tennessee and received her Master's in Education from The Ohio State University. She taught Home Economics and vocational education in Columbus for over 25 years. Education was a fundamental part of her life. Marty lived in Columbus most of her life and later moved to Tiffin. She enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years, was an avid reader and adored her grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the many caregivers at Autumnwood Care Center for their love and care.

There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be at a later date in West Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.
