Martha J. Sager, 76, life long resident of Bascom, passed away Saturday morning, January 9, 2010 at Elmwood at the Shawhan Assisted Living.

On February 27, 1933 in Bascom, she was born to Arthur J. and Mabel D. (Brickner) Sager and they preceded her in death.

She is survived by many cousins, two aunts; Ruth G. Swisher of Fostoria and Ruth G. Brickner of Tiffin.

Martha was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1951 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School and received her Bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University in 1955. She taught Kindergarten at Washington Elementary for over 30 years and was a life member of the Ohio Retired Teacher's Association and life member of the Seneca County Retired Teacher's Association. She volunteered at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Fostoria and enjoyed bird watching, acrylic painting and manicuring her lawn.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Art Niewiadomski officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Tiffin.

Friends may visit on Tuesday, January 12, 2009 from 3-7 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., 419-447-2424. A Wake service will be Tuesday at 6:45 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care or Elmwood at the Shawhan Assisted Living.
