Martha Mary Sendelbach, 90, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 14, 2011 at St. Francis Home in Tiffin.

On July 12, 1920 in New Riegel, she was born to Roman and Mary (Huber) Schalk. She married Herman W. Sendelbach on November 3, 1945 in St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Herman of 65 years; 4 sons, Wayne (Cindy) Sendelbach, Mark (Elaine) Sendelbach, Steve Sendelbach, and George (Heather) Sendelbach all of Tiffin; 3 daughters, Jane (Ollie) Zahorodnij of Avon Lake, OH; Carol (Lyle) Linn of Bloomville; Betty (Gary) Shaver of Tiffin; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 brothers, Joseph and Edward Schalk; and 2 sisters, Louise Gardner and Theresa Leibengood.


Martha was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Rosary Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed gardening, canning and playing Euchre and the time with her sewing and card clubs.

A mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to mass. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 4-8 pm at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.
