Mary Lou Betz, 82, of Tiffin, died Tuesday afternoon, December 15, 2009 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin.

On September 18, 1927, she was born to Richard and Anna (Calmes) Tiell. She married Carl Betz on December 3, 1949.

Survivors include 3 sons, Ron (Hilda) Betz of Phoenix, AZ; Jerry (Debra) Betz of Tiffin; Dean Betz of Tiffin; a daughter, Jan Betz of Tiffin; two brothers, Carl Tiell of Findlay; John (Kathy) Tiell of Fremont; four sisters, Betty Gilliland of Fostoria; Pat Haughn of Akron; Donna Sikora of Tiffin; Jean Scheerer of Waco, TX; 5 grandchildren; Pamela Betz; Penny Betz; Bradley Betz; Fred Betz; and Alex Betz and 3 great-grandchildren, Corban Betz; Lucy Betz; and Bobby Betz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl in 1995, brothers, Larry and Paul Tiell.

Mary Lou was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and worked for General Electric and the Telephone Company as an operator. She enjoyed Bingo and playing cards.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

A Private family visitation has taken place.
