Mary A. Smith, 85, of rural Tiffin, passed away Sunday morning, September 27, 2020 in Toledo at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

On January 21, 1935 in Republic, she was born to Lawrence and Dorothy (Hahl) Bogner.  She married Kenneth P. Smith on June 11, 1955 in St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin and he preceded her in death on December 31, 2000.

Survivors include three sons, Mark A. Smith, Gary L. (Elaine) Smith and Greg P. (Carol) Smith all of New Riegel; two daughters, Cindy (Larry) Gosche of New Riegel and Sandy (Ralph) Koerper of Fostoria; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Herman and Ray Bogner and four sisters, Bernadine Hood, Marge Collins, Phyllis Eckert and Ruth Steyer.

Mary was a member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel and a 1953 graduate of Republic High School.  Mary volunteered at St. Francis Home where she called BINGO, enjoyed knitting, baking, playing cards and attending the grandchildren's sporting events and activities.  She was a member of the Twin's Club, part owner of Seneca Hills Golf Course in the 1970's and a fan of the Cleveland Indians.

Her Funeral Mass will be at 11 A.M. on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at All Saints Parish, New Riegel with Rev. Timothy Kummerer  and Rev. Jeffrey Smith officiating.   The Mass will be livestreamed at allsaints-parish.com.   Burial will follow in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.

Due to Covid-19, the family will not be receiving visitors, but the casket will be open from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass on Thursday at Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Parish, St. Francis Home, FACT, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
