Mary Lou Curns, 88, of rural Tiffin, died Friday morning, August 21, 2009, at her home.
March 31, 1921, she was born in Tiffin to Charles F. and Hazel M. (Turner) Smith. October 3, 1942, she married Alvin H. Curns.
Survivors include two sons, Richard (Jeannine) Curns and Ken (Sherry) Curns, both of Tiffin, five daughters, Donna (Don) Miller of Tiffin, Jeanette (Dave) Beidelschies of McCutchenville, Bonnie (Richard) Sanford, Cindy (Nick) Heilman, both of tiffin, and Brenda (Joe) Hiestand of Fremont, a brother, Richard O. Smith of Tiffin, eleven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 8 step-great-grandchildren and 4 step-great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband, Alvin, on July 12, 1991, is a sister, Gertrude Oakleaf.
Mary Lou was a 1939 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and attended Old Fort United Methodist Church. She liked to crochet, sew, work puzzles and watch game shows. Mary Lou was a member of Old Fort Flames, and loved outings with her family, as well as spending times with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424, with Rev. John Alice officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.
Friends may visit with the family 3-8 PM, Tuesday, August 25, PM, 2009 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice Care or a charity of the donor's choice.
