Obituary

Mary Ley, 93, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday morning, October 22, 2011 at Elmwood at the Shawhan in Tiffin.

On May 7, 1918 in Bascom, OH; she was born to Charles and Clara (Brickner) Ley. .

Survivors include her sister, Naomi Ley of Tiffin; nieces, Shirley Peabody, Susan Linenfelser, Janet Matteson, and Joann Warnement, a nephew, Lonnie Ley; many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene and Carl Ley; sister, Geraldine Unterbrink; niece, Marlene Camochi; and nephews, Eugene Ley, Jr., and Steve Ley.

Mary was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society, graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1936 and later from Tiffin Business School. She worked for AEP for over 47 years in Tiffin and Lima retiring in 1985. She was active with the retirement group through AEP and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, golfing, and vacationing with her sister, visiting 49 of the 50 states.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. A Rosary will be prayed at 11:45 prior to the mass. Following a luncheon at the church, burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at St. Patrick Catholic Church from 11:00 -11:45 AM at the church. .

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care, 181 E. Perry St., Tiffin, OH; Children's Tumor Foundation, 95 Pine St. 16th Floor, NY, NY 10005 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
