Mary Catherine (Arbogast) Pierce McKenzie, 52, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and formerly Tiffin, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at The Hope Hospice House, Lehigh Acres. She fought a very long and hard battle with cancer.

She was born Aug. 17, 1959, in Tiffin, to Harlan C. and Rosemary (Schreiner) Arbogast, and they survive in Tiffin. Mary married John McKenzie June 19, 2010, in Lehigh Acres, and he survives in Lehigh.

Mary was a homemaker and a cook for Lee County Schools. She was a 1977 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School. She loved the ocean, riding sand dunes on a dune buggy, boating and above all, spending time with her family and friends.

Mary is also survived by three sons, Cory Pierce of Tampa, Fla., Christopher Pierce of Wheeling, W.Va., and Tyler McKenzie of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; 15 brothers and sisters, Carol (Denny) Lofay of New Riegel, Sandra (Mark) Sexton of Kentucky, Steven (Yvonne) Arbogast of Tiffin, James (Michelle) Arbogast of Toledo, Tina (Tim Wise) Elchert and Phyllis (Brian) Ream, both of Tiffin, Roger (Tammy) Arbogast of Bascom, Wanda (Roger) Jordan, Joanne Perkins and Dennis Arbogast, all of Tiffin, Milissa (Timothy) Wagner of Old Fort, Bruce (Jenny Burns) Arbogast of Alabama and Douglas (Lisa Stein) Arbogast, Jessica (Parker) Bloom and Justin Arbogast, all of Tiffin; three grandchildren, Jayla Jo Pierce, James Rewis and Amanda Rewis; 37 nieces and nephews; and 13 great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mary will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Mike Roemmele officiating.
