Mary Ellen "Mickey" Krupp, 84, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday morning, July 26, 2011 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin.
On March 4, 1927 in Tiffin, she was born to Mark Twain and Hazel Marie (King) Wertz Sr. She married John R. Mack on June 19, 1949 and he preceded her in death on February 5, 1969. She later married Paul J. Krupp on November 6, 1974.
Survivors include her husband Paul of 36 years; sons, Michael P. (Cindy) Mack of Tiffin; Timothy S. (Laura) Mack of Manchester Center, VT; Shawn K. (Leanne) Mack of Palm Coast, FL; Daniel T. Mack of Columbus, OH; daughter, Holly M. Nueman of Tiffin, OH; step sons, Richard P. (Anita) Krupp of Sandusky, OH; David M. (Mary Jane) Krupp of Granville, OH; Stephen C. (Wanda) Krupp of Newark, OH; James C. (Ann) Krupp of Columbus, OH; John A. (Jodi) Krupp of Columbus, OH; step daughters, Cynthia Rose Barlow of Palatine, IL; M. Theresa (Steven) Brickner of Woodville, OH; Annie Christine Krupp of Sandusky, OH; 26 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John; brother, Mark Twain Wertz Jr. sister, Margaret "Peggy" Hawk, and one grandson.
Mary Ellen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1945 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School and graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Mercy School of Nursing in Toledo. After graduation, she worked at Tiffin Developmental Center; where she met her first husband, many years at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin and Autumnwood Care Center as a nurse and trainer until her retirement in 1990. Mickey enjoyed traveling and ceramics and volunteered her time as a nurse for Camp Pitinger for many years and founding member and past president of FISH. She was a friend to all and left everyone with a smile.
Her mass of Christian burial will be Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to mass. Burial will be Monday, August 1, 2011 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit and share stories with the family on Thursday, July 28, 2011from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to Seneca Dialysis, Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
