Mary Catherine Miller-Vervaeke, 86, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at the University of Toledo Medical Center.

On October 12, 1923, she was born in Tiffin, to Eldon and Celestia (Shultz) Gardner. She married James A. Miller on August 29, 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1979. She then married Robert G. Vervaeke on June 26, 1981, and he preceded her in death in 1994.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Ralph) Snay-Wymer; Judy Buck; and Kay Miller, all of Tiffin; a sister, Rose (Robert) Owens of Columbus; two grandchildren, James P. (Michelle) Snay; and Jennifer J. (Joe) Daniel; and five great-grandchildren, Austin J.; Kadin A.; and Alexa L. Snay; Kaitlyn A.; and Nicholas J. Daniel; and her dog, Pup-i.

Preceding her in death along with her parents, and both husbands, are two brothers, Eugene and Thomas Gardner.

Mary Catherine was a graduate of Calvert High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. After the death of her husband, Jim, Mary Catherine became president of Tiffin Enterprise, until retiring in 1984. She was an avid nature lover, who enjoyed landscaping, gardening and cooking.

Her funeral Mass is 11:30 AM, Saturday, September 25, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family 4-8 PM, Friday, September 24, 2010, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will be 8:00 PM.
