Obituary

Mary Jo Murphy, 83, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 27, 2013 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

She was born on September 10, 1929, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Lewis and Verdene (Martin) Staib.

Survivors include her 3 sons, Michael P. Distel, Robert J. Distel and Anthony L. Distel; 2 daughters, Allyson (Raymond) Distel-Leisy of Wooster and Peggy (Jonathan) Murphy-Crum of Tiffin; 1 sister, Cherie B. Staib-Ponce of Tiffin; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack R. and Jan L. Staib.

Mary Jo graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School and worked as a switchboard operator at Mohawk Motors. She was a member of the Tiffin Women of the Moose Lodge #846 and enjoyed the many friends and the good times she had there. Mary Jo enjoyed crossword puzzles, golfing, playing cards; especially pinochle and Euchre and enjoyed eating Reese's peanut butter cups.

A sharing of memories and a reflection of life will be at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Friends may visit with the family from 1-2:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Community Hospice Care and the staff and volunteers at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center for their care and friendship.
