Mary Ellen Rhoad, 99, of Tiffin, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Tiffin Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on July 14, 1923, in Bloomville, Ohio, to Myrle and Della (Sting) Rider.  On January 17, 1945, she married Robert E. Rhoad and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2023.

Survivors include her sons, Stephen (Marcia) Rhoad of Tiffin and Thomas (Kim) Rhoad of Howell, MI; daughter, Sue Ellen (Terry) Bogner of Toledo; two grandchildren, Aimee Bogner of Akron and Cory (Sarah) Bogner of Whitehouse; and two great grandchildren, Oliver Bogner and Jack Bogner.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Robert Rider and Richard Rider.

Mary Ellen was a 1941 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School.  She was a homemaker and a seamstress, member of Trinity United Church of Christ and belonged to several women's groups.  Mary Ellen enjoyed volunteering at Church, Betty Jane and Autumnwood Care Center.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, Humane Society of Seneca County or to a charity of the donor's choice.
