Obituary

Mary Lou Schultz, 65 of Tiffin passed away peacefully with her husband and daughter, Lara by her side, Tuesday afternoon March 9, 2010 at her home.

On September 15, 1944 in Blue Island, Illinois, she was born to Jack and Shirley (Roesner) Schuster. She married the love of her life; Corrie Alan Schultz on March 25, 1967.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Corrie; father Jack Schuster of Chicago; daughter, Lara Ayn (Marlaina Winkler) Schultz of Akron; son, Lieutenant Commander David Alan (Shandra) Schultz of Monterey, California; brother, Steven John (Lydia Barbee) Schuster of Boise, Idaho; sister, Jo Ann (Hugh) Mossell of Westmont, Illinois; 2 grandsons, Jarrett Alan and Austin David Schultz; her Boston Terriers, Cindy and Lu Lu, Jack the one eyed cat, and grand dogs, Joey and Amos Lee.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Schuster.

Mary Lou was a 1962 graduate of Evergreen Park Community High School and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago. Her nursing career started at Christ Hospital in Chicago, later taking her to Bellevue Hospital, Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky and Fostoria Community Hospital. Even though her life was filled with family, she found time to graduate as a cosmetologist from the Tiffin Hair Academy, and operated a variety of cosmetic and skin care businesses. In addition, she ran several interior decorating businesses. She volunteered for the Seneca and Wyandot Humane Societies and the Ritz Theatre. She provided "Look Good Feel Better" services for the American Cancer Society and was a child advocate with CASA of Seneca County. Also, she volunteered for many years with the Victorian Guild of the Hayes Presidential Center where she later worked at the Dillon House for a number of years doing special events, weddings and Victorian Teas.

A celebration of her life will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, 44883, 419-447-2424, with Rev. Dr. Jan Kucera officiating.

Friends may visit with the family Noon to 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seneca County Humane Society, Wyandot County Humane Society, C.A.S.A., F.A.C.T and Community Hospice Care.
